It’s safe to say I don’t know you, and that I don’t know where you drop your hat in the poetry ring, but I do know you’ll like Billy Collins. While he cringes at being called “accessible” to those who either hate or fear poetry (he prefers “hospitable”), he is exactly that. Now, the former Poet Laureate of the United States has produced a set of “action poems,” poetry set to animated videos.

There are a lot of ways to mess this up, but the videos, combined with Collins’s plain poetry, and wonderful monotone, get this really right.
