Gosh. I have so little to say this week, it’s staggering. This might all change after work, of course, but since I’ve been emotionally dead after work lately, we’ll see.
As per my question last week, it seems people are leaning towards longer updates versus more during the week. And more specifically, longer updates first, more updates during the week next. So, both. Eventually, I’d like those multiple updates to happen, so again, we’ll see. The faster I get this buffer out, the more I can do stuff like write bonus chapters.
That happened, by the way. I went to prepare this week’s section, and found I was ahead of myself by a week. I staggered, grabbing the table nearby for support. I had a buffer. It was an incredible feeling, so now I crave more. Which was the point all along.
I suppose we can talk about the section a little. This section is really here for two purposes: first, to establish just how isolated Toby feels, and second, to let Nina hang out a little. The isolation thing comes from being thrown in to a situation with strangers, having the stranger who is in charge of him abandon him, being surrounded by a language he can’t read, and being underneath the water in a submarine. It’s a maddening feeling, being that isolated.
Nina is there, being Nina, which is to say being sharp and observant and much nicer than Xiphos. This is what she’s good at. I’m working on a section of her back story right now, and where to place it in the upcoming sections.
As always, any questions or comments are welcome.
